Prince and Princess Day

The children of Early Years and Key Stage 1 dressed up as princes and princess for a day.  They were joined by children from Mrs Ethelston's School who joined them in activities in the morning.  During the afternoon they were all treated to a performance of Sleeping Beauty.  Click on the article to see some more pictures.

Thank you Friends of the School

The Friends of the School have purchased new bikes and trikes for the children in the Early Years to use.  Here are photos of them enjoying using them for the first time.

People Who Help Us

Wrens Class have had lots of visitors recently.....

For our topic 'People who help us' we have been very lucky to have had visits from people who help in the community.
Jon came to talk to us about being a fireman. We tried to get changed into the uniform in sixty seconds! We practised 'stop, drop and roll'.
Tracey talked to us about sign language. We learnt how to sign our names.
Brian Street came to talk to us about volunteering for the RNLI. We had a look at the uniform and learnt about the different boats.

Calling all parents!
Devon County Council are asking parents to tell them what age child you have and how many hours of childcare you require a week, so they can make sure there are enough childcare places for everyone.
If you are a parent please help by completing the simple 5 minute online survey even if you do not need any childcare. The survey can be found at

Sidmouth Science Festival 16-21 October

Colyton Grammar School have informed us that they are running a "hands on" science activity at All Saints Hall, All Saints Road in Sidmouth from 10am to 4pm on October 20th as part of Sidmouth Science Festival. A wide range of science activities are planned, including musical lolly sticks, a brains detector, the flying drinking straw challenge and magic ink.... to name but a few. There will also be an opportunity to "make and take" some of the activities so that the science fun need not stop when you have to go home.

Parents and older children might be interested in some of the other events taking place during the week, and further information can be found by clicking this link Sidmouth Science Festival >>>

All Hands to the Gardens at St. Andrew's Primary

The sun shone on parents and children who came to help tidy up the gardens at St. Andrew's Primary.  The gardens were in need of a bit of TLC and it was  all hands to the deck to transform them.  Thank you to all who gave their time.  More help is needed so if you can spare an hour or two please call in at the school office.
