Axminster Community Primary Academy has a thriving Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) which is open to all parents, carers and teachers.
Through its fundraising efforts, the PTFA has raised thousands of pounds over the years. This money has been spent on improving equipment, resources and facilties in school and to fund activities that extend the children's experience beyond the National Curriculum.
But our PTFA is about much, much more than just fundraising. The PTFA exists to provide closer links between home and school, and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.
We extend a warm welcome to all so please help to support our children and school by joining the committee or offering help at one of our events or fundraisers.
The aims of the PTFA are; to engage in activities, which support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it, including social and fund raising events and to provide and assist in the provision of facilities for education at the school.
The PTFA raises funds to meet the costs of equipment and expenses which are not covered by the school budget. These funds are directed to help the children in their education and to provide the fun events, activities and equipment that would otherwise not be possible.
The PTFA organises events such as the Summer Fete, Christmas Fair, Discos, Quiz Nights and Cake Sales and uses the funds raised to pay for such things as playground equipment, coaches for educational trips and an annual Christmas Party Day with a visit and gifts from Father Christmas!
