Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to St Andrew’s Early Years Centre.  We provide high quality learning experiences for our youngest children, from age 2, in purpose built accommodation as part of the Primary School. The team is led by an Early Years teacher, supported by other highly qualified staff. We have excellent facilities both inside and out, to enable to children to flourish in a caring and supportive environment where each child’s needs are developed.

The Early Years Centre is able to access all of the facilities and be managed by the school to ensure a smooth and continous transition into school life.

We currently have vacancies for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. Funding is available for 15 hours a week for all 3 and 4 year olds (starting the term after your child's 3rd birthday). Some funding is available for 2 year olds who meet certain criteria. Please contact the office for more information.

Due to high demand, we strongly advise that parents visit the Early Years Centre and register before their child turns two. This will help to ensure that we can offer your child the sessions you would prefer by allowing us to plan ahead for the statutory staffing requirements.

Please come and have a look at our fantastic facilities to see for yourself!  Click here to arrange a visit or ring 01460 220534. For a copy of our prospectus please click on the information section.

RNLI visit to Pre-School

RNLI visit to Pre-School

The children had a fantastic visit from two members of the RNLI. The children loved dressing up as lifeguards and life boat crew. We learnt how to stay safe at the beach and to shout for 'help' if they are ever in trouble in the water.

Pre-school Police Visit

Today the children were visited by some Police officers.

The children were very excited to learn about their job and try on some of the uniform. We got to go and look at the Police van and we even sat inside. Some of the children were brave enough to be shut in the back. We then saw the blue lights flashing and listened to the siren, it was very loud. We did some fingerprinting and colouring sheets it was a fantastic visit. Please click on the heading for more photos.

Today the children were all very excited to have a visit from Steve the postman who told us all about his job delivering the mail.Steve spoke about his uniform and why he must wear his fluorescent jacket. He spoke about the mail vehicles and the offices with the computers which sort out all the post using the postcode on all letters and parcels.Steve also showed us the special tool that is used to post the letters through the letter boxes of houses that have dogs in. Steve said he had been bitten twice by dogs whilst delivering the mail. After his visit we then got busy writing a quick letter home and popped it in the post box at the post office. We are looking forward to the postman delivering them soon.
