Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to St Andrew’s Early Years Centre.  We provide high quality learning experiences for our youngest children, from age 2, in purpose built accommodation as part of the Primary School. The team is led by an Early Years teacher, supported by other highly qualified staff. We have excellent facilities both inside and out, to enable to children to flourish in a caring and supportive environment where each child’s needs are developed.

The Early Years Centre is able to access all of the facilities and be managed by the school to ensure a smooth and continous transition into school life.

We currently have vacancies for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. Funding is available for 15 hours a week for all 3 and 4 year olds (starting the term after your child's 3rd birthday). Some funding is available for 2 year olds who meet certain criteria. Please contact the office for more information.

Due to high demand, we strongly advise that parents visit the Early Years Centre and register before their child turns two. This will help to ensure that we can offer your child the sessions you would prefer by allowing us to plan ahead for the statutory staffing requirements.

Please come and have a look at our fantastic facilities to see for yourself!  Click here to arrange a visit or ring 01460 220534. For a copy of our prospectus please click on the information section.

Christmas in Pre-School 2016

Christmas in Pre-School 2016

Yesterday the pre-school children had a very exciting day.  The children thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas dinner at lunch time, celebrating with their friends and teachers.

The children also received a very exciting delivery from the postman. Father Christmas received all the girls and boys letters and wrote back to all of them. The children were all very excited opening their letters.

We have had a non stop week of Christmas crafts, the children have been busy learning about and making Christingle's for the Church service this week as well as making their own christmas cakes and melting snowman biscuits. The children have been enjoying working in Santa's workshop wrapping presents and dressing up in nativity clothing. The children are all looking forward to celebrating next week at their very own Christmas party with a special visit from Father Christmas himself.

Pre-school post their letters to Father Christmas

Pre-school post their letters to Father Christmas

We have had a busy week writing letters to Father Christmas, we have been telling him what good boys and girls we have been and the gifts that we would like him to bring us .  We had a walk to the post office to post all of our letters in the hope that Father Christmas receives them.  This links with our current theme of The Jolly Christmas Postman and him delivering letters to all the fairytale characters in the story.
