Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to the Early Years Centre

Welcome to St Andrew’s Early Years Centre.  We provide high quality learning experiences for our youngest children, from age 2, in purpose built accommodation as part of the Primary School. The team is led by an Early Years teacher, supported by other highly qualified staff. We have excellent facilities both inside and out, to enable to children to flourish in a caring and supportive environment where each child’s needs are developed.

The Early Years Centre is able to access all of the facilities and be managed by the school to ensure a smooth and continous transition into school life.

We currently have vacancies for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. Funding is available for 15 hours a week for all 3 and 4 year olds (starting the term after your child's 3rd birthday). Some funding is available for 2 year olds who meet certain criteria. Please contact the office for more information.

Due to high demand, we strongly advise that parents visit the Early Years Centre and register before their child turns two. This will help to ensure that we can offer your child the sessions you would prefer by allowing us to plan ahead for the statutory staffing requirements.

Please come and have a look at our fantastic facilities to see for yourself!  Click here to arrange a visit or ring 01460 220534. For a copy of our prospectus please click on the information section.

Spring Visitors

Spring Visitors

Thanks to Charlie's Daddy we were very lucky to have some special vistors at pre-school this week. They arrived by tractor and trailer and caused much excitement!

Although we were incredibly excited Violet kindly reminded us that we needed to use our quiet voices as "we don't want to scare them". They had fluffy tails, four legs and soft coats for us to stroke. They were quite noisy too!

Can you guess our visitors before peeping at the photos?

World Book Day

World Book Day

World Book Day was celebrated in style by all in pre-school. We had great fun dressing up as our favourite book characters, and shared many stories brought in from home with one another.

This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch

This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch

After reading the book throughout the week it certainly got us in the mood for a picnic or two! We used our skills of using one handed tools to make our sandwiches to munch and to chop up our apple to crunch.

We had our brave guard bear keep an eye on our sandwiches until it was time for our picnic snack. Lucky for us we had no dog performing a tremendous leap onto the table to grab our sandwiches!

Munching and crunching away listening to the story, it has to be said we all agree indoor picnics are the best!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt...We're not Scared!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt...We're not Scared!

Off round the village we went on such a beautiful day in hope of catching our bear. Through long wavy grass, a deep cold river, thick oozy mud, a big dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and a narrow gloomy cave...

But did we we find our bear with one shiny wet nose, two big furry ears and two big goggly eyes? You shall have to take a look through the photos to see! Click on the heading for more photographs

It's Party Time!

It's Party Time!

What a ball we all had at our Christmas party! We were spoilt rotten with special surprise visits not only from Father Christmas but Elsa too! The children did a splendid job of singing and put a big smile on everybody’s face. With all the fun that was had with the glitter, gems and sequins, everybody managed to leave with a little hint of festive sparkle, and most certainly with full tummies from the biscuit decorating and festive treats!

It was lovely to have Pre-School bursting at the seams with all of you. We would like to say a huge thank-you for all of your help, and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
