A packed St Mary's Church were treated to delicious mince pies and mulled wine, before Marshwood Schools annual Carol Concert. As the children entered, the lights were dimmed and the church was illuminated by hundreds of candles, before the children and congregation belted out Once in Royal David's City, Ding Dong Merrily on High and Away in a Manager. KS2 also treated everyone to a gorgeous rendition of the French Carol 'Il est ne, le Divin Enfant'. Each song was punctuated by prayers and poetry written by the children, along with readings from the bible. The Rev Stephen also shared a whole school prayer and blessing, while the school's many talented musicians played their guitars, violins and trombones along to the various carols.
It was a quite beautiful spectacle, with singing and music to match!
