St Andrew’s Primary is ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features.

The report following our recent Ofsted inspection is here! A copy for parents will be sent home with the children tonight and will be available on the Ofsted website next week.

The visit found that teaching was consistently ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ and that strong leadership was ensuring rapid improvement in all areas of the school. Attainment within the school was also commented on with the inspector impressed by ‘attainment rising sharply since the last inspection’.

Harvest Celebrations

Harvest Celebrations

Parents and friends at each school in the Federation joined with the children to celebrate Harvest.   Acorn Federation had chosen Mary's Meals as their charity to support with donations of money instead of the usual items of food. Mary's Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the worlds poorest communities where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.  The funds raised provide one daily meal to children in a place of learning, attracting chronically poor children into a classroom, allowing them to be provided with an education that could, in the future, give them the steps to remove them from poverty.

At. St. Andrew's Primary a total of £164 was collected whilst at Mrs Ethelston's Primary a total of £399.15 was donated.  This money will make a remarkable difference to many children's lives.  Thank you to all the children and parents for their kind donations.

Mrs Ethelston's and St Andrew's Residential Trip to Hooke Court

The year 4 children of Mrs Ethelston's and St Andrew's had a truly fantastic time on their residential trip to Hooke Court. True friendships were formed between all children, who were sad to be parting.
